New: Dialogue Counts!
While we've been developing Changeling Tale, our game engine's creator, Renpytom, is also doing hard work to improve Ren'Py, keeping it up to date and adding new features for game makers like us to tinker with. We visual novelists are extremely grateful that Tom not only made Ren'Py, but that he has also continued to maintain and improve it for all these years-- almost 2 decades, now!
On the remote chance Tom ever sees this, thank you! None of this would have been possible without the foundation you built.
One of the latest features Tom added is a way to see how much dialogue each character has in the game. Knowing that many of you have a favorite character, I thought you all might appreciate these stats:
Total Blocks of Dialogue Per Character (so far)
Malcolm- 4,123
Grace- 1,695
Marion- 1,523
Jessie- 1,178
Agnes- 752
Alana- 396
Balgair- 378
Owen- 137
Effie- 85
Including narration and all other characters, the game so far has 20,409 dialogue blocks amounting to 308,597 words-- that's more than the first three Harry Potter books combined! And of course, we're not done yet :D

I like how Grace who is the more reclusive of the sisters also has the most words! XD And our main protagonist is more of a chat-colm! Also, Balgair needs more screen time. ^^
