[Cultist Update] "In Nomine Populi" T-8 Days

Hi Cultists,

with the announced deadline of December 24th, 2024, for In Nomine Populi closing in fast, I’m thrilled to share my progress so far!

This really just is a slightly edited Version of the Public post, including the current 0.1 Pre-Release Version of In Nomine Populi.

Let's start with a rough overview of what's to expect:

We'll have a completely overhauled Character Creation System, replacing literally all aspects of current Black Crusade with this one. Players will, as announced in my last update, play Helots, as a very weak human racial option in Black Crusade.

Well, I've expanded the roster of Dreg Archetypes to 6, now including the Unseen, as an extremely weak Psyker starting option, for those wishing to work their way into Psychic Powers down the line.

Passions have been entirely reworked, replacing ALL passions, prides et cetera, with appropriate and rebalanced ones.

Characters will also have the option to increase their starting XP by taking on Maladies, a new system I designed. These give players mild disadvantages in exchange for extra XP, focusing more on roleplay potential than hard mechanics.

On top of that, we’ll be ditching the traditional Black Crusade Alignment System (though there will still be options for those who want to keep using it) in favor of something more streamlined and easier to use. I can’t reveal all the details on this just yet, but stay tuned!

So what now?

As of December 16th, 2024, I’m about 98% done with everything I had planned for the 0.1 release. We’re already sitting at 21 pages of content, with another 4–5 pages likely to come in the final version. My current focus is on finishing the Alignment tweaks, adding a few more Talents, and working on a rework of the Requisition System.

The planned release is still December 24th, 2024, though there’s a chance you, the Cultist Tier Patreons, might receive it a few days early.
