🎉 LDR – Version 4.9.0 EXPERIMENTAL changelog 🎉
First of all: this version is NOT for everyone.
It’s incomplete, likely full of bugs, and many new features are only in their earliest stages.
It’s aimed at players who want to see behind the scenes, check out every small detail, and test the inner systems while they’re still in progress.
👉 If you just want to enjoy the game, I recommend:
The 4.8.1 Alpha stable build (available to all Patreon supporters)
Or the free older version on Itch.io (for the curious)
⚙️ What’s new in 4.9.0 EXPERIMENTAL
There are a LOT of changes, rewrites, and updates – more than I can fully list – but here’s the main idea:
Complete rework of the game’s core code and technical hierarchy
Optimization and adaptation of all systems to make them more stable and scalable
New, lighter, and more fitting HUD
Upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.5 (which caused major map structure changes and some plugin issues)
First steps of the global save & open world system
Complete item rework
Improved and restructured dialogue system
Added more context to interactions (still in progress)
Consolidated menus
Improved combat system
Added states for all entities
Added NPC customization system (will be used for future modifications)
Added NPC behavior system (your actions affect their opinion of you)
Beginnings of the dynamic shop system (not fully implemented yet)
New distance-based optimization system adapted to UE 5.5
Reduced code dependencies
New art direction for the UI
⚠️ Reminder: This is an experimental build, not suited for a full playthrough.
I’ll be releasing one experimental build each week until we reach a stable version (and I’ll let you know every time).
💡 If you want to enjoy the game’s content and stable gameplay, stick to 4.8.1 for now.
But if you love testing, tinkering, and watching the game evolve in real time… this version is for you. 🚀
