in regards to the new marketplace..
i won’t be applying to be a “maker” in the new marketplace feature coming. my content will always become free after three weeks.
as for my personal opinion.. i believe this is one of the worst decisions ( along with the buyout ) that EA have made for this game. the game would’ve died a long time ago if not for the amazing creators that have been doing this for years upon years. i believe every creator should make money from work they put in the game while equally believing everyone should have access to FREE content after an early access period or from the get go.
long before i become a creator, the modding / custom content creators have built a community alongside the game that has taken years of work & support from players. i believe that EA has fomo and is only trying to profit / benefit from the work that others have done.
alongside all of this, i think a 70/30 share going to EA for work other people are doing is insane & if anything is probably the worst part about it all.
so yeah, i won’t be applying for the maker program & will continue to make content for you guys as usual.

Unfortunately my current personal situation doesn´t allow me to support creators by memberships directly, but if it changes I surely would prefer that than ea´s marketplace. It´s a shame ea gets 70 % of the benefit of a creators work.
I completely agree that the community is what has been keeping this game alive. That includes incredible modders like you. Your work is absolutely amazing and you deserve way more support imo. I haven't played the game in a few months, but if I weren't a poor student, I'd literally keep my membership just to support creators like you

The only thing that I see as a positive from this is console players finally getting to use the amazing stuff PC players get to. I just wish there was a way for it to be free for them as well. Outside of that, yeah its just another cash grab for EA.
I think this is just an money grab from EA, because we already mostly pay for cc/mods through patreon directly.

I have loved and supported this franchise for over 20 years and, for the first time, I really don't think I can continue supporting it by buying any new Sims content or buying creators' content through EA. I plan to keep playing my game with what I have, of course, and will continue supporting the mod/content creators that are standing their ground.

i personally think the payout is the worst thing about it all but I don’t agree with the overall idea of permantly paywalled content! i think the kits were fine as it was a marketing tool almost for creators & a dream for many to have their content in the game! if it were a easily accessible programme within the game where you could upload your content for free & conveniently i think I’d say never say never but atp with the buyout & this, I don’t have any want to be in cahoots with EA & the sims itself.

I think that if this happens it will be such a big disaster and I will not be supporting this. I would rather support the creators directly then give my money to EA. I think they have gotten enough. Like is this a last minute money grab before the buyout happens. The creators that did sign up to be a part of this I would like to know why, maybe to give something to console players, so they can have access toCC as well idk, but the pricing is why to high on some of it and I think they are ripping people off. Just my opinion
i think it’s a tactic so the new owners will see the value ( $$$ ) in the game & not scrap it. i think it’s a good idea for console players to maybe have an in-game platform so they can access approved content but not at the expense of the creator :(
