Hello, as I'm still learning how to build landscape I was following a tutorial by the numembrothers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYwfDQK645Y&t=263s&ab_channel=NumenBrothers . The end result looks awesome so that was what I tried. But I know there are other ways to do It, I will try to do! Thanks!
Ahh, this is a bit different. His cave goes under the landscape. However you could achieve this result by lifting the hightmap of the landscape then dig with the sculpt tool down. But if you want this visibility to work you need to modify the AutoMaterial shader. But if you are new to Unreal Engine it will be not so easy task.
Hello, can we punch holes through the automaterial to shape caves in the landscape?
Yes, of course. Select your Landscape -> Go to Landscape Mode -> Sculpt and start sculpting up/down.
Does this Auto material allow for detection of material the player is stepping on for the use of footstep sounds?
At the moment no. You need to add this to the automaterial if you want it. But all the node connections are there so you should be able to do it.
