A Stormy Night — Animatic
I’ve had this little animation idea in my head for a looong time, and I finally decided to at least put it down as an animatic!
This is something I’d really love to add to my animation queue eventually. I have a particular soft spot for this idea because I love showing this gentler side of Ruan, he can be a pretty tough guy, but this side of him is one of my favorites.
As you can see, the animatic is still VERY rough haha. I usually don’t polish my animatics too much when I already have a clear picture of the scene in my head. The timing will probably change too. I want to let some moments breathe a little more, and I still want to explore how Ruan uses his powers here.
Also, I did NOT expect to feel so bad for the little bird while drawing this 😭 I kept going “THE BABY!! THE BABY!!” and reassuring my own drawing that everything was going to be okay hahaha.
Anyway, I thought it was finally time to share this little idea with you guys. I hope you enjoy this early peek at it! And thank you, as always, for being here while I slowly bring all these animations to life. 💖

Haha yes 😂 His happy ending was guaranteed from the beginning. I just had to emotionally survive drawing everything he went through before getting there 😭

Awww then this one was made for your bird obsessed heart 😭✨ I’ve actually been holding onto this idea for about 3 YEARS!! The whole little story basically grew out of that image of Ruan finding and protecting this tiny bird. I kept thinking about it for so long that I finally went “okay, I NEED to make this” hahaha 🥹

Yes!! And not just animals , Ruan can potentially help other living beings affected by that kind of dark energy too. Animals are the easier part though… And believe it or not, I’ve actually NEVER played Kingdom Hearts!! 😭 I’ve always loved the art and especially the soundtrack (it’s so beautiful), but I barely know the actual story hahaha. So now you’ve made me curious 👀
