I love the use of visual storytelling. That’s what animation is so great at. You were able to have me understand a little more about both characters without any dialogue and that’s special and I hope one day to write something like. I dig it. Good stuff. Keep it up because I want more.

So many theories! Is it after they shared that moment during the festival and a sort of “couples quarrel”, Ruan trying to scare her off so she won’t be in danger, or maybe something more? So many things that could be the reason!
Ah! In this scene you are right, Ruan is watching her closely to see if she’s actually scared or just saying she’s ready to face whatever comes her way. He’s testing her fear level and making sure she’s not in any real danger. This scene happens before the night they share a hug. A lot happens.
