I’m very late to this but in defence of Ron kissing that girl men are oblivious to signs little hints Hermione made he wouldn’t pick up on 99% of men wouldn’t pick up on women flirting unless it’s painfully obvious

It's a bit upsetting you blurred out your entire reaction to certain scene, its like...why?came for reaction and the reaction is blurred out?????? what was the point?

“Don’t tell me things get worse!” - Eralia 😭 …. On a random note: do you have a Costco membership? May want bulk size package of tissues. No reason.

When Snape tells Harry he's the Half-Blood Prince, he says it as if he knew Harry was trying to find out who it was. They didn't actually going around asking people or even spend any time trying to find out. I don't know how it is in the book, but it felt like they had forgot about it when writing the movie and just added Snape's line near the end.

When I saw this in the movie theater I felt my heart sink when I saw Dumbledore die. I felt that again when I watched your reaction. Thanks for sharing these moments 😊 ❤️

Not every murder creates a horcrux, that's just one of the steps. He killed way more than 7 ppl.

H
Hudpower · January 18, 2026

Remember, Ron saw himself holding the house cup, and he was captain of the quiddich team. That's why he was so desdset, even from his first year that's what he wanted.

Snape's mother was called Eileen Prince and she was a witch.. Snape's father was a Muggle so Snape was a half blood...and so he named Half-blood Prince.

This is my one of my favorite Harry Potter movies. I know a lot of people don’t like it but I love it. If you get a chance to read the book, read it. It’s crazy! The memories and the back story on Voldemort is awesome!

I wouldn't phrase it that way personally, but in a rold where most of us have our emotions dampened by lonelyness and antidepressants, it is nice to have someone that expresses emotions so clearly, you can feed off it.

Why are the potion instructions wrong?? I'd like to know that too.

H
Hudpower · January 18, 2026

The instructions weren't wrong. The book made clarifications, shortcuts, tips ect, and sometimes adjusted the recipe. One would assume if you knew exactly what you were doing the normal recipe would be possible, but Snape refined it or made the instructions way more clear. The potions were explicitly hard, not just as simple as "follow all the instructions ez" otherwise it wouldn't have been impressive. Instructions can also be vague. Arecipe for baking a cake isn't "wrong" if it bakes a cake, but someone may be able to make a way to make that exact cake faster, and or simpler.

William · January 16, 2026

The next movie is actually my favorite! Can't wait. It is however the slowest of the movies, but it's really immersive and different from the rest.

I had to laugh right at the start when you joked about people either watching casually over dinner or leaving five-paragraph essays about book vs movie differences… I’ve never felt more seen 😅 I also really liked what you said about coming into these expecting kids’ movies. That’s honestly one of the smartest things the author did with the series — the early books are lighter and more childlike, but they age alongside the readers. By the time you get here, the tone has fully shifted, and it really feels like the story has grown up with its audience. It was interesting seeing your reaction to the memory vials too. The movies don’t do a great job of clearly re-establishing what they are, especially if you haven’t read the books. Rewatching these through fresh eyes really highlights how much the films sometimes assume you already know. When you said about 45 minutes in that you were scared of where the movie was going because you couldn’t handle the heartache… yeah. That line aged immediately. This movie really doesn’t pull its punches. I still remember reading *that* part of the book for the first time when it came out — I actually put it down and didn’t pick it back up for a week. Once again, your predictions were spot on — especially clocking that Draco was trying to bring people in. Watching those connections click before the reveal never gets old. This is still a great movie, but it’s probably the one where my book-to-film frustrations show the most. Ginny, in particular, loses a lot of what makes her great. In the books she’s confident, funny, and formidable; here she’s written much more awkwardly and defined almost entirely by her crush on Harry, which is a real shame. And after the Death Eaters break into Hogwarts, the film just lets them… walk out. In the book there’s a full-on battle through the castle, and it’s one of the most intense sequences in the series. Even an extra ten minutes there would’ve made a huge difference. Also, the “Half-Blood Prince” reveal kind of gets brushed past. It is Snape, but it’s a self-given title — a half-blood kid, bullied and isolated, trying to claim some sense of importance through how clever he is. That context adds a lot to what the name actually means. Another fantastic reaction overall. This one hurts, and the final stretch is even heavier — but watching someone experience it for the first time really reminds you how powerful these films still are.

I will forever love the Harry Poter series having grown up with the books and then later the movies through childhood/teen years, always a joy going back through them, though simultaneously heartbreaking knowing how many of the beloved cast are no longer with us

Do you need more Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix) in your life? Sure you do! == Fight Club (1999) & Big Fish (2003). People will add other dramatic roles, but these are my favorites with her.

Plot twist: This isn't even the most broken you'll be from watching these films (Queue tear pool memories)

Such observational skills of relationship dynamics combined with the roller coaster of emotions make for a wonderful reaction. The only recommendation that I have is for you to change to a makeup regimen that is suitable for swimming/diving.

I came into the movies (and then then looped back to the books) a bit older than the intended audience; essentially watching and reading along with, and through the eyes, of my nieces and nephews. I always appreciated how beautifully they summoned the wonder and trauma of youth. First friends, first foes, first kiss and the slow normalization of loss. It took me back to when I first read Oliver Twist, feeling the context before I was old enough to understand it... Realizing this was that moment for my nieces and nephews. And I remember thinking, "I don't want you to understand this." Which was foolish and naive because it's part of the whole experience. Richer tapestries from broader experiences, and all that. I continue to love these films because they do a wonderful job at presenting that journey. They're silly and awkward and heartbreaking in just the right ways. All that said, fuck the corpse water. That's just an insidious little dig into the psychology of fear. He was about to give Dumbledore a shell of that foul shit to wash his mouth out with. That's just so gross and David Yates knew it. Brilliant dick move.

I love that the movies get better and better as each film goes, not many films can make 8 in a series and all of em be top notch. They've made like 60 Jason and Freddy movies but only a handful are top notch.... I'm looking at you Jason X!😡

Ironbark · January 15, 2026

Might have been mentioned before, but you definitely need to check out Return to Hogwarts (the 20th anniversary special) after the last movie. It is literally so worth it and the production quality is on par with the movies.

"Emotional damage", what a perfect way of describing Harry Potter movies. Reading this book when it was released left everyone with the light "what now" feeling because the only thing we could do was just wait for the next book release. The last two movies are the last book split in two.

I’m not ashamed to say I legit cried when I read about Dumbledores fate. It was the most saddest and shocking twist I’ve ever read at the time! I hope you’re ready for the Deathly Hallows because it’s gets crazy!!! Thanks and take care Eralia!

M
Myze · January 15, 2026

Yeah, it was a big twist. I remember when the book came out in 2005. The spoiler about the big twist was almost a meme it was so prevalent. I hadn't read any of the books at the time and knew nothing about Harry Potter and still knew the phrase "S*** K**** D*********" from people randomly trying to spoil everyone. It was definitely an early meme. I read the books several years later and thankfully didn't remember that until after I got to that part.
