Development progress:
Since my last dev log at the beginning of April, I've completed roughly 450 renders and 10 animations. This puts the standing total at over 2,000 renders and 30 or so animations. This is really cool because my most exaggerated estimate for how many renders and animations I have left is roughly 400+ renders and 10 animations. If I'm able to keep up the pace I had for the last two months, I'll be done with the update by the end of the month.
In other words, my VERY generous estimate for when LbtW Day 4 will be available on Patreon:
I say generous because deadlines and I have never gotten along, my script has NEVER once matched how many renders I actually end up doing, and who fucking knows anything. That being said, though, a lot more of last month than usual was spent coding. I built an entire phone system for a scene, as well as learned how to use sprites for a (again, one single) scene. I have a problem wanting to do a lot of random, stupid, little one-off gimmicks and then deciding I need to learn an entirely new skill set to achieve it. But hey, at least some of these might come in handy in the future... right? Unlike the minigame I've been tinkering with...
Anyway, yeah. Late May. At the earliest. The absolute ASS END of May. MAYBE. If we're LUCKY.
We'll see what happens.
On another fun note: one of the scenes in this update will be entirely rendered by Pickle! She's been helping with the game since the beginning (character designs, story, Patreon, clothes/hair/etc.), but this will be her first time actually rendering a full scene. I don't think either of us plan on this becoming a normal thing. It's just that this particular scene was too perfect for her to not render. I think people will be able to guess which one it is when they play the update. I'm really excited!

And, once again, my free time is almost entirely this game. Not much to report. I've watched some YouTube videos about Seros and Pragmata, and they both look really fun... maybe one day!
There's been a lot of good music out recently, though! Pickle and I have really been enjoying the new Noah Kahan album! The new Kacey Musgraves and Isaiah Rashad albums are also really good! And Kehlani and American Football and T.O.P. and Jay Chou! My personal favorite, though, is the new Prince Daddy and the Hyena album (if I ignore the band name)!
Oh! And the trailer for the new Resident Evil movie is sooo good!
