Important warning: Be careful with modding commissions!
*Important warning: Be careful with modding commissions!*
I have recently heard of another case in which a user was scammed by a modder. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case – and this time it even involves a very well-known modder who mainly creates male-oriented content.
Typical pattern: There are constantly new excuses – illness, medication, private problems – but at the same time new mods are regularly released. However, the promised commission never arrives, or you are fobbed off forever.
Therefore, here are a few important tips to protect you from fraud:
> > *Never pay for the entire commission in advance*. Only make a small deposit.
> > *Do not use “Family & Friends” on PayPal*. This way you will not have buyer protection in case of fraud.
> > *Ask for intermediate results*. For example screenshots or Mare files – this is also possible without textures.
> > *Agree on clear deadlines*. Nobody has to wait 3 months or more for a simple port commission. Such delays are often intentional to make sure the PayPal buyer protection runs out.
Please be careful, even if the modder seems familiar or popular to you.
*Trust is good – protection is better.*
