π Centaur Queen Reforge β Second Update
It's been a few days, and I've barely stepped away from her.
I'll be honest β I've put way more hours into this reforge than I planned to. Every time I told myself "okay, this is good," I'd rotate her one more time and find something else pulling at me. Part of that is just me being stubborn. But a big part of it is you. Your comments on the last update sent me back into ZBrush more than once.
The whole time I've been chasing one question: does this make her feel more like herself?
So instead of piling on detail, I worked on identity. What changed since last time:
β A torn, flowing cape β the piece that finally gave her presence and movement from every angle.
β The junction between her human and horse halves, reworked so she reads as one single creature, not two bodies joined.
β A bone quiver and wrapped protection on her legs that feel like hers, not borrowed gear.
β Her horns, heavier and more present.
β And a lot of quiet work on flow and balance that you might not notice directly, but you'd feel if it were missing.
The thing I fought hardest to protect was her face. So many of you connected with that expression, and it's the first thing that slips when you keep pushing a piece. I wasn't going to let that happen.
Something I didn't expect happened during this reforge. You stopped just giving me feedback and started telling me who she is. A huntress. A guardian. An ancient protector of the forest. One of you even described the exact moment she's frozen in β drawn bow, and then something pulls her focus away. I hadn't planned that. But the second I read it, I couldn't unsee it, and it changed how I finished the pose.
That's the whole reason I show her like this β still grey, still raw, no paint, everything exposed. This is the honest stage.
She's close now. Close enough that I want to stop and ask before I lock her down, not after: does she feel like herself to you? And is there anything that still feels unresolved before I move into final detailing?
I'm reading every reply. She's a better character than when I started β and that's not me being modest, it's just what happened here. π
