Next Patreon Release & New Full Version Release Plan
Hi, everyone!
First, I want to get the bad news out of the way. Kemo Coliseum will be delayed to 2026. While we've made a lot of progress to the game, we all believe that Chapter 8 will not be as good as we want it to be if we were to rush it and finish it in its current state.
Our original plan was to release the game at the end of Chapter 8 while completing all the romances required for Volga to continue romancing the characters in Chapter 9. Then, we would release Chapter 9 later as an update, so people could experience the main story, and enjoy the post-game content afterward. With the game currently in Chapter 7, we believed that it was possible to finish Chapter 8 by the end of this year. Even though many unexpected things happened that cost us some development time, such as accidents and hospital visits, we tried our best to stay the course and focus on finishing the game.
Unfortunately, we underestimated how much work would be required to finish the end of Chapter 7 as well as Chapter 8. Testing everything also takes much longer than expected. We've done a playtest from the beginning to the end of Chapter 6 with all the side content, and it already takes around 40 hours. With Chapter 7, 8 and 9, as well as all the optional content, the game could hit 50 hours or more, which I would consider substantial for an indie RPG.
As of writing this, the game already has 258,558 words, not including the description of items, equipment, skills, armor bonuses and quests. For comparison, Final Fantasy IX is 170,000 words long, and Final Fantasy VII is 344,000 words long (https://gamicus.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_longest_video_game_scripts). We knew that Kemo Coliseum would be long, but it's definitely much bigger than we thought.
We could rush and release the game, but with a game this big, it would surely be a release full of bugs and typos, which would definitely hamper the experiences of people playing it. And we don't want that to happen, not for something as important as releasing the finished game to the public.
Because of this, we believe it's best for us to move the release date. We understand that this decision may disappoint some of you, but we need more time to finish the game properly so that your experience will be as good as it can be.
Next Patreon Release
Even though the finished game is delayed, we still want to release something this year to show our supporters our work. In December, we'll be releasing the next Patreon build for our supporters. The next build will feature the following:

Chapter 7 (up to the final coliseum match)

Cyrus's romance
Aquilo's romance
Lambert's romance
Aoba's romance
Blacksmith job (max rank 6)
Merchant job (max rank 6)

While it's possible to use your old save file to continue, some characters require you to complete certain requirements before Chapter 4 or Chapter 5. If you'd like to romance Lambert or Cyrus, in the upcoming build, please make sure to get as close to them as possible before certain points in the story.
As always, there's no need to keep supporting us on Patreon. You only need to support and gain access to the Patreon version once, and you'll receive all future updates, including the upcoming one in December. The finished game will be available for free to the public.

Hello, im an older patreon at the low tier, and i got the november update link normally, (and of course im playing the game in itch for years) but the new december update on patreon seems to have me locked out and wants me to upgrade to the $4.5 tier, is this a bug? or is the 1$ completely cancelled? i think i remember you saying that "whomever was in the 1$ remains there, and gets his typical benefits, but all new patreons have the $4.5 minimum from now on" am i wrong?
The $1 tier is completely cancelled. We did not say that $1 tier supporters will get the same benefits, only people who used to support us at $3 tier to get the patreon build will still get the same benefits. Hello. First of all very nice game keep up the good work. I hope you can resolve the issues you are facing outside the game. I just wanted to ask does the patreon version include the fight with Aquilo because I think I read somewhere that the fight with Aquilo is in the game, but when I finished the mission to save Tharsix the game told me that currently this is the available content. I don't know if it is bugged or the fight with Aquilo is not in the patreon version. Thanks again for reading this message. Also I can play chapter 6 but not chapter 7, is this normal?.

Take your time to make this game, as long as your story can be really astounding to us, that's all I wished. I really can't wait for the new update of the chapters, it's already half way in December. Guys, take as much time as you need. It's important not to overwork. I prefer to get full and good game later than defective and faulty one sooner. For me release date doesn't matter. Good luck guys and you have my full support <3

Are all tier supporters will be able to play the new release or starting from a specific tier?
As long as you're playing the Patreon version of the game you should get the new release no matter what tier you are at (if at all).
You reach insane character count! Really excited for all the development. You've been an inspiration to me as indie creator for almost a decade but also a cautionary tale of projects that grow larger than anticipated. Looking forward to making a new file to explore the next patreon build!

I remember the best release date of each good old Blizzard Games : "WHEN IT'S DONE !". I'm definitely proud if you keep this philosophy. I'm against all those final rush in the videogame sector. It gives drawbacks as for the game itself as for their devs. We totally trust on the game quality, so we can easily wait a little bit more ! All loves on you and the team <3
I learned about this game relatively recently. And the work you've done is simply incredible. I always want to play the finished product as soon as possible, but I understand that tight deadlines negatively impact both the developers and the project as a whole. For anyone following the the progress of game in the past 14+ years, it hardly comes as a surprises you misscalculated the release date. I'm just happy we can get new content in december! Hopefully before the holidays so we can enjoy the new content on our downtime!
