I'm going ahead with the proposed event of choosing a scene from the story to illustrate. To that end, please make some suggestions! Reversal and Sykotron have already made a couple of neat suggestions, so choose a scene you think it would be awesome to see illustrated, or maybe even your favorite moment from the series, and we'll do a poll later in the month to decide what scene will be illustrated next! :)

I'd habe to say one of the most intersting scenes to be illustrated would be the first arrival in palancar As a sidenote, here is something that has been rolling around in my head for a while: weapons deplete cores to do their cutting. Shouldn't cutting therefore be a form of learnable energy-manipulation skill? It would make for an impossibly strong combatant. Maybe you can clear up that issue once someone finally gets into blacksmithing
Well, using energy to form blades/cut is essentially what Leanna's shadow blade technique already is, and it is powerful, but the requirements to use energy like that are considerable, and it is much less energy efficient than using a weapon. I mean, Leanna is deadly at close range, but she's essentially a glass canon and wouldn't last long in a sustained fight the way Nathan and the others could with weapons. Also note that while weapons use energy to power their incredible cutting, it's actually still a function of the weapons themselves and how they are made, though that explanation I will perhaps save for when the story gets there. The scene you've suggested is one I have definitely considered, as it is a huge moment. I'll add it to the list, but I'll need to consult my artist as we have talked about scenery shots and she's not quite so confident in her ability to do them. 😅
