Update

Chapter 12 of Banished has been submitted to Lit, though with the special contest being handled this week, it may take a little while to come up.

As for our own 'special event' for this month, I've decided to go ahead with the 'suggest a skill' idea. I've created a survey via surveymonkey which will be linked below, and perhaps in a separate post. At the end of the month, I'll go through the suggested skills then select, maybe 10, I think? And we'll do a poll next month to see what the reader favorites are. There are lots of skills which I've already conceptualized for the rest of this arc, but given that there will always be a need for unique skills to make for interesting villains/antagonists or randomly encountered otherworlders, there will be plenty of cases to perhaps feature the more popular ones into the story at some point. :)

I'm going right into working on chapter 15 of Banished. I did try to get through that difficult part in Trapped while writing chapter 14, but the problems have persisted. As an alternative to letting the story stagnate, I have considered working instead on part 11 as the events of that chapter run concurrently with chapters 8-10, so that is a possibility if the problem persists in the long term.
