October WIP: Onsen Bathroom & Spooky Masks

Up until now, our take on Japanese interior & decor has been pretty contemporary and experimental, so we wanted to mix things up with a traditional touch. Hence, we thought it’d be a fresh idea to make a bathroom set heavily influenced by the Onsen (traditional Japanese hot spring) aesthetic.

To stay consistent with our home series, instead of building a full-on hot spring like in Snowy Escape, we’re making a more versatile, homey version: a tranquil Japanese bathroom with a calm, healing vibe. Lots of natural materials, traditional motifs, and floral accents.

Here’s a quick sketch of what’s coming: a bathtub (of course), plenty of wooden and stone decor clutter, lush plants, cherry blossoms, and bamboo decor ♨️🌸

Halloween is also on the way! 🎃 We couldn't miss the chance to squeeze in some Japanese folklore ghost cosplay! Since we’re dipping our toes into the CAS biz, we’re honestly just finding any excuse to make more CAS items XD! A few ideas we’re planning: a series of masks (and face paint!) inspired by Japanese mythology. Some of my absolute favorites include:

• Kitsune (Fox Spirit): That sassy, hypnotic and mysterious aura is to DIE for!

• Hannya: Super cool, even with that creepy face.

• Kaonashi (No-Face from Spirited Away): An absolute icon watching Ghibli growing up!

For No-Face, we’re actually hoping to make a full costume instead of just the mask. Let’s see if we can figure out the mesh/weights for it, because that would be SO lit. It goes so well with a spooky bathroom / sauna theme too 😭✌🏻.

Let us know your thoughts, and if you have any fun inspiration or ideas for this theme, drop them below! ♨️🌸👻. Stay tuned for more WIP! ✨
