March WIP: Bringing a Piece of Japan Home

Hi Simmers! Chang and Yena here, and we are so excited to pull back the curtain on what’s been brewing in our studio this month. After a busy start to the year, we’re diving into a project that’s very close to our hearts: a Japanese-inspired "messy-cozy" living room collection.

The Vision: Authentic Daily Life

Our process always begins with a hunt for the perfect "vibe." We wanted to move away from the pristine, catalog-ready rooms and instead capture the beautiful, cluttered reality of a lived-in apartment. Think overflowing bookshelves, tangled wires, and the warm glow of a CRT TV in the corner.

From Doodles to Digital Dimensions

To help with the 3D sculpting and baking process, we’ve been leaning back into our roots with hand-drawn concept doodles. This helps us map out the "personality" of each object, like the specific rust on an AC unit to the way a laundry basket overflows with mismatched socks.

What’s in the Pipeline?

We have 32 objects currently in production, divided into sets that mix high-tech (for the Sims) with high-clutter (for the aesthetic).

We’ll be sharing the 3D progress shots as these beauties come to life later this month. We’re so thankful for everyone's support as we navigate our new freelance roles - it’s giving us so much more time to experiment with these unique cultural touches!
