Our Heart Behind the CC: How We Create A New Set
Of course, modeling is fun—but what’s even better is the creative journey behind a new collection. Sometimes, a set starts as a combination of cute objects we stumble upon in our daily lives; other times, it’s a deep conceptual process, and we love every second of it!
Step One: The Vibe
First, we ask ourselves: What experience do we want to deliver? We are passionate about Asian representation, so we dive deep into culture and history (Currently we are exploring Japan).
For this set, we researched everything from everyday scenes to historical movements. We landed on "Showa Retro"—the nostalgic, vibrant aesthetic of Japan’s mid-Showa era (1950s–1970s) that blends pop-inspired design with dark wood furniture.
We then gathered a collaged board on Pinterest (or good old Googlin') to refine our direction. This process gives us motivation and a sense of fulfilment knowing you - our beloved members in the Sims community will soon experience them!
Step Two: The Blueprint
Having a clear concept is half the battle won! Next, we plan which objects fit best in game and how they will function together as a cohesive space. Our favorite method is to sketch out our ideas quickly. This visual plan helps us narrow down the object list and ensures the room feels lived-in and functional.
Step Three: The Execution
Once the groundwork is done, it’s time to bring it to life - Model, model, and model! Moving from low-poly and high-poly models to texturing and, finally, the in-game version. It’s an incredibly rewarding process that leads to the moment we finally deliver the set to you 🥳.
Our Heart Behind the CC
Creating custom content isn't always simple. We pour so much thought into every phase, from the initial concept to the final technical polish. Seeing your support, positive feedback, and reactions makes every bit of effort worth it. It’s been a long journey, but the result makes every step worth the time! ❤️

From the very first sketch the vision was so clear :) thank you for sharing and this very fun and original set!!!
It was really cool to see the design process!
Love this so much! Thanks for sharing more about your process. Beautiful to see the time and dedication you put into each new release!
So excited for your next release! Showa retro is super popular among young people in Japan right now—cassette tapes, old café cream sodas, floral appliances, low-res digital cameras, all that cute nostalgic stuff. Your new work feels perfectly in tune with that vibe—truly ahead of the trend!
Thankyou <3 Those little objects are all in our list and we are still working on it, we're so glad you like this direction!
