Pirates!

Please if anyone on here do this fraud things on patreon and re-post my game on any forums, I know I can't stop you but for gods sake stop using my own google drive and mega links it suck up my bandwidth and I don't have that much money to expand it every freaking month to more. What you see on patreon is my only income and I also have bills to pay and game is also sucking money. Making game also cost, that was my reason why I used patreon. If you anyway re-posting my game around at least upload it to your own/different link. This way you will kill the game!

Thank you for reading.

Yeah. That's a problem... but maybe i got an idea. Next release don't upload the game but instead, post a torrent file. I know this is not the perfect solution but im shure there are some patreons (inculding me) that will gladly share thier bandwith with the rest of us. Also when the game hits the 5 gig mark at some point we would have to buy the premium acc anyway. As i said, not the best solution but, hey it's a start.

One could simply find a man who laid out the game in free access and delete it from the list of patrons.

I see Nenad's point about people using his links. But arguing against piracy is stupid. You can't stop it, unless you use some extreme DRM system, that will ultimately cause as much harm to your clients, as it does to the pirates. And with Patreon hiding NSFW creators, piracy sites and forums are the only place you can keep yourself updated on new and interesting projects. CDPR's approach is how you fight piracy.

I agree it is very difficult to stop piracy and also implementing some sort of DRM system would not be wise. I know how annoying the DRM system was in another game I support and how many players objected and some even gave up patronage because of it and many more would have if it had not been changed. However, I do not think arguing against piracy is stupid even if it is very difficult to stop. These people who do this may think they are the modern day internet Robin Hood but they are no more than common thieves who steal other people's property. Even if they think it is justified and they make no profit from it, it does not make it right. We may not be able to stop piracy but that does not mean we have to accept it or that we shouldn't make comments about it. If something is stolen both the person who steals it and also the person who accepts the stolen property are both to blame. The thief because they have taken something which does not belong to them and the person who accepts the stolen property because they make a market for the thief. One cannot exist without the other.

I do not agree with piracy at all and considering how little it costs to support the developer of this game which then gives access to the game I do not see any reason why anyone would want to do this. At the moment I pay $5 per month and this gives me full access to the game. That is so cheap so why steal it when it costs so little?! I do not like added security with games and the use of passwords. They are a pain in the ass and I hope it will not be necessary. The only thing I can do as a supporter of this game and the developer is to increase my patronage to $10 which I will do once I have posted this comment. I hope the person who has pirated this game will have some decency and stop trying to hurt this developer. I also hope that in the future I will not have to use a password to be able to play it. @Nenad Asanovic, I love your game and I support you because you are the rightful owner of this game and I feel so sorry some low life has decided to do this to you.

a AAA game (which tend to be expensive for what they have in them nowadays) ranges from $60-80. so at $5 that means you will pay as much as a AAA game in 12-16 months. most patreon games take that long or longer to go from start to finish. not to say the $5 isn't well spent or that the creator is giving you a raw deal, but it isn't cheap. at $1-2 from start to finish it would cost roughly the amount that most indie games go for. frankly most creators put the game out for free after a bit of delay so pirating is pretty pointless most of the time, and giving money has either to do with a lack of patience or a desire to support the game, which most people i would suspect are in the later category.

As far as I'm concerned, I have to admit that this is a pirate site that made me know your game, since I pay every month, but I will never allow myself to share a link. If you want to play it, do like me: help the developer.

to be honest there are some supporters who discovered this kind of games throught forums and so, but i can understand the frustation of Nenad Asanovic , and most importantly is that he is absolutly right about people using his own link for the game. the problem is that most people dont support the game after playing it, and lets be honest, there are a lot of updates and effort behind this, people should be more honest about this staff, and he is not the only one suffering from this problem, publicy is good but there are limits.

Might have to do a revolving password, or something. There has to be a way to prevent this.

C
Cpfalstrup · December 20, 2017

You are right but what stops them from sharing the password too!
