The Restaurant v0.2.5 – Dev Log #6
Hello guys. I'm getting closer to the end of the present time in Valeria. As you know, Valeria/Evan had a fight in the previous mission and after listening to old songs, Valeria finds herself in a dark place. She realizes she has been unhappy for a long time and wants to go back to the time when she was actually happy. But of course, bad luck follows Valeria like a curse. She feels exactly the same way she did 20 years ago, alone and sad.
After finishing this mission, I'll start with the 80s part. Here Celeste becomes a big problem for Valeria/Melody. She's a psycho killer pursuing Valeria for an unknown reason. She's the fire that many of my songs mention. On the other hand, Melody's father will show up, which will also be something Valeria has to deal with. There are many details, but I don't want to spoil too much now. These days I'm kind of tired, honestly, but I promised you to bring something high quality, and I'll keep that promise. As you know, I'm doing this part time and doing my best as I can. I also have a real job to deal with and other real life stuff, but I always spend a good amount of time on this game because I believe it's going to be good. I hope it's something you will enjoy. I genuinely want to create a good game. Replayability is what I want to achieve. For example, I'm still playing old games such as Half Life 2, Portal 2, Max Payne 3, etc., because those games are absolute masterpieces. For a game to be remembered, replayability is always very important. Of course, my game is just a grain of sand in the ocean, but I want to make that sand shine as much as possible, something you want to play again. Now I'll go back to work because I have no time to waste, but take care of yourself, stay hydrated, and be awesome.

Is the girl in Pic 8 Marie? I often go back to my old games, too. I've been playing Batman: Arkham City and Persona 4 recently. I'll have to buy Max Payne 3 if you say it's any good 😁. For a game to be replayable, ideally each mission should have two or three ways to solve things. Alternatively, you could introduce time-limited events on the world map or have multiple events occurring simultaneously, forcing the player to make choices. However, there are some really good linear games that are worth revisiting years later 😉👍. Get some rest and have a good weekend 🫡!
Max Payne is really good, man. The humor is top-tier, and the story is epic too. You should definitely give it a try. Most of the AVNs I've replayed didn't have many different choices,they just had great visuals and a great story, so I replayed them anyway. But of course, adding choices is always a plus, and I'll try to include as many as I possibly can.

The most repayable VN game I've ever played is Leap of Faith. That's a mighty high bar to clear. But your well on your way!
