A Compendium with Aentre-Faune
Hi everyone! Today I'm presenting you a little project in the works with the team Aentre-Faune, a compendium of research on an Incubi farm!
In November 2023 I’ve participated to an event called YCON in Paris. For this occasion a couple of colleague artists and I formed a team called Æntre-Faune. It is composed of Antios, Ink and Ghuraok (myself). Last year we’ve presented separate projects, this year however we thought it would be nice to work on something together. The theme of Farming has been voted and with it the idea of creating a Compendium narrating our respective discoveries in this Incubus owned farm.
An Incubus Realms project: With the consent of my team, they’ve allowed me to hit two birds with one stone and take the opportunity to expand upon the lore of Incubus Realms.
Twelve themes: Each theme will be given a page per member, these revolve loosely around the Farm, its lore, products, inhabitants, owners and more. Below, the list of my pages for this compendium.
Evolutions: Caring for a creature can encourage its evolutions towards one form or another. While no species is better than the last, adding variety often leads to more products to offer. It’s also the job of beast carers to grow the right creatures for their patrons, the incubi! Creating a dungeon always requires to populate it! I had the opportunity to study some of these evolving monsters and shared my notes on this page.
Fungal furniture, tips and tricks: Are you also taken by the hype? Do you want to show off to your fellow aspiring humans how fancy you boudoir is? They’ll be jealous when they see not only do own many of these expensive and rare designs, but they look even better than theirs due to your meticulous care. Here, I detail the procedure to care for both the human and fungal part of your décor. Keep track of their moisture, humanity levels and more with these simple steps!
Incubators: A daemon egg is a wonder, what appeared first? The egg or the monster? How many can you take? During this group activity you’ll be trained to be the perfect incubator! Yoga classes, identifying eggs and knowing what kind of energy they feed upon. As I can vary my size from half to twice a human, it allows me to incubate all sorts of species. Tag along and I’ll show you how to populate a dungeon in no time, making your Incubus father proud!
Fusions, impregnamorphism or root nature? In this community we can find various species working hand in hand to satisfy their patrons and the locals. But many shroud their origins in mysteries. Of course, one’s origins shouldn’t define their worth, yet there’s a sense of pride in matching the expectations rooted within our popular myths. I come to break the taboo, with my flattering curiosity I charmed a handful of participants to reveal their backstory. This page is dedicated to educate on fusion (two or more entities merging in a new one), impregnamorphism (transformation acquired by impregnation) and root nature (retaining their original nature).
Predators - The Wasp: As the warmth relaxes our muscles, the sun invites us to lie down on the grass and rest. Before you know it, you’re glued inside a wasp’s hive! Your backside is gently offered from the open end of your capsule hotel. This alveolus will be your home for the coming days, as will your insides for the next generation of wasps. In this page, I will tell you how we saved the hive as the Æntre-Faune team helped finding “volunteers” to become happy parents.
Symbiotes - Dryads: Ambassadors of the forest, they often assist the gardeners and whomever caring for plant life. They offer their intimacy to be seeded by the various species. Small seeds can hide in their grassy mane or even sounded down to their prostate. Preferably the fruits are thrusted deep inside their stomach. These off-springs will then grow and root themselves within the dryad’s body, sprouting all across its skin as it is for them the richest of soils. The Dryad will grow bigger to accommodate the life it is carrying until if finds it a proper habitat, it then returns to its former size. Note that in some biomes where the plant life is vivid and agressive, dryads do not assist it as much as they’re being gangbanged left and right by the entire forest. This page describes the process from being seeded to the fully grown trees that emerge from the dryad.
Vacations: The community that built this farm isn’t all about working. While the jobs are rewarding and well compensated, what attracted the many members here was a shared pleasure for enjoying life at a slower pace. After all, farming requires patience. Being immortals, the Incubi Lords plan ahead for this community to last for centuries. In this page, I took note of the many installations and rituals imposed on the farmers to rest and relax so they may never collapse from mental or physical exhaustion. The Æntre-Faune team was forced invited to join these revitalising routines as well!
The Incubi Hunt: Every year, a few select members of the community join a game our esteemed Incubi Lords organise. During which, the participants must find the exit of a labyrinthe (curtesy of our faun masters) while hunted by our patrons themselves and their guests. To be captured is to be cursed, some would say blessed, by the hunter. The effects last until the next event and vary from being bestowed a new form, attracting uncontrollably specific populations, being cloned or exchanging body with the hunter. Of course these examples constitute in no way an exhaustive list, for our masters’ creativity is endless. To escape is to form a bond with your chosen hunter, one of their ability becoming yours to borrow freely. In this page, I will tell the events of the last hunt I participated to, at the demand of my own mentor.
Symbiotes - Mounts: Adopting one is a life-changing experience. Once worn, the organism feels like an extension of your own body! With varying degrees of invasiveness, you get to pick the right partner in crime. Beware, the farms tames those symbiotes, don’t go in wilds being stingy or before you know it, your body and mind will no longer be under your control! I made that mistake, crawling back to the farm! In this page I promote the catalogue of symbiotes available.
Parasites, insects, rats and more: Through cracks, missing tile or if you forgot to lock your doors, you might unknowingly welcome unwanted guests in your home. As the cold days begin, the carefree nomad suddenly takes an interest in real estate, rent-free that is. Be prepared to fight back the invasion during the Nights of October, waves of pest will attempt to break in and before you know it you find yourself cooking for eight wearing a collar and a leash (sometimes even a maid outfit). Your house become a squat, rats, racoons, cockroaches and more complain you didn’t get enough beer and send you back to get more while they watch the game scratching your newly bought sofa. A stomach full of lowly seed, eggs and toys they found in his cupboard, Ghu’ introduces his new self-proclaimed roommates.
Milking, methods and degustation: Each of our members, from the proud centaur to the rough minotaur, not to forget the prolific fauns and satyrs, all work in concert to procure quantity with quality. Watery, gluey, rampant and everything in between, we’ve got your covered! In this page, I present the assortiment of beverage offered during our tasting ceremonies. Why are there members with labels on them instead of bottles? That’s a silly question, why can’t a member be the bottle themself? Bottom’s up!
Saturnalia, the patrons at work: It is a day everyone is excited for, perhaps not all of our Lords, but their oath is eternal and unbreakable. To celebrate winter and rewarding the community for their hard work, during two weeks our esteemed Incubi circle forfeits their place in the hierarchy. They become our servants and cover all of our duties, even offering to relieve us from past labour throughout the year. In this page, I exploit my mentor gleefully and explain the process of sharing past workloads.
The deadline for this project is late August 2024 as it must be printed fairly in advance for November 2024 at the YCON.
