State of EVO ahead of v0.6
What are we doing? What's happening? I can tell you what's happenning:
With a planned date by the end of this week a new version of EVO will be released. A lot will change and some pretty major new features will be added. Mainly a routine that allows for completely automated ReShade presets being created on the fly depending on the selected stage, and even down to the level of individual presets for individual weathers and specific circumstances.
With roughly 450 EVO supported stages and roughly 11 weather options per stage, this would add up to 5000 possible individual reshade presets optimized for stage and weather. This can even be doubled for separate presets for the replays and even further multiplied by possible presets for different camera views as well.
On its' initial release in v0.6 this feature (DYNAMIC PRESETS) is going o be pretty much limited and focused on:
getting the POV headlights to work as smooth and intuitively as I can
to automatically turn on/off the EVO post processing effects of Depth of Field, Bloom and Reflections depending on the circumstances
while also avoiding artefacts and ugly effects in the RBR menus
and as a proof of concept, have a specific preset applied to all dusk/dawn weathers of EVO
(don't be alarmed all of this is going to be optional and easily turned on/off)
However as you may have noticed by now, I'm not an expert in building ReShade presets. There is so much more that can be done visually. We are basically now free of the 20+ year old weather setting and graphics limitations of vanilla RBR. So if you consider yourself capable handling reshade and want to get involved, this might be your time to shine:
We need 40.000 new ReShade presets :)

Update v0.6 will be released tomorrow Monday 20th of July. It looks stable, robust and working in all sorts of installations and conditions but some final tests are needed.
hi, is this good for playing in VR?
yes, apparently it is. I never tried VR before but people report back that it works just fine and adds to the immersion. Just keep in mind, particles, weather, audio, clouds, retextures will work without any issues. But when you want to add the reshade functions as well you need to install reshade as Vulkan+OpenXR. This then unlocks VR compatibility even for reshade. But it might be buggy. One user reported he additionally had to alter the 2d resolution in the RSF installer just slightly (1 pixel) for it to actually work. (apparently this triggers a rebuild of a file that is otherwise missing after this reshade installation trick.) I already purchased a cheap vr set to test these things in the future myself and find fixes to these annoying issues. But haven't been able to find the time yet. Still working on the release of EVO v0.6...
