Chevrolet Kodiak/GMC TopKick of the 80's 90's engines to be found for these turcks everywhere, even could pull old school bus eninges for these trucks, I've seen people even putting these engines in the smaller ton trucks.

It really depends on the generation. I like a lot of the post war trucks but getting around the 00's things got kind of junky all around.
