📢 Projects Report and Studio Update

What's up guys! This is Devian bringing you an update about some of our ongoing projects, news about the studio and the next releases in our schedule.

Projects on Hold and Delays - Unohana and Denji

We know you guys are excited for Unohana Retsu and Denji, and both projects should already have been delivered by now.

The sculptor responsible for these two projects is no longer working with us, and I want to explain why. I'll be 100% transparent here because you guys support Samiho Studios and deserve to know what happened and how this affected the studio. However, this post is not meant to roast anyone, just to explain the situation clearly.

For some time, we had been facing problems regarding communication and quality standards with this particular sculptor. Here at Samiho Studios, all sculptors are required to send me weekly WIPs so I can closely follow the progress of each project, point out refinements, and help guide the next steps of the sculpt.

Unfortunately, this communication was not happening consistently. Messages often went unanswered, WIPs were delayed or missing, and this started affecting the quality standard we want for the studio.

Because of that, I had to stop working on some of our ongoing projects to personally refine and polish pieces that were not ready to be released yet. I'll never deliver something that you guys won't feel proud to print and display.

This situation affected projects like Kokushibo, Zaraki, Denji and Unohana. After trying to solve the situation internally, I decided to remove this sculptor from the team.

For now, I'll focus only on working with the internal artists. The people I personally know and trust, and who are fully dedicated to Samiho Studios and its quality standards.

The Solution

For the next months, I'll personally refine and/or redo the delayed projects while Kidou focuses on the next announced releases.

I'll continue following his process closely, helping with textures, poses, compositions and refinements whenever needed, just like we always do here at Samiho Studios. So don't worry, this won't affect the quality of the future releases.

However, during this restructuring period, our release pace may temporarily slow down a bit while we reorganize the pipeline and bring the delayed projects back on track.

First, I'll focus on Unohana since she's one of the most requested and anticipated projects by you guys. This project will require major refinements and partial rework, and my goal is to deliver her next month.

After that, I'll focus on Denji, refining the sculpt, improving the base and redesigning parts of the display to make sure the final result is something worthy of your shelves.

And don't worry: if you subscribed for these two projects, you'll still receive them without needing to subscribe again.

Next Releases

I didn't post the next releases earlier because I didn't want to keep pushing promises without first finding a real solution for the delayed projects.

I was holding back announcements while trying to release some of the pending figures first, but that also ended up affecting the schedule and creating uncertainty about future releases.

So here's how we'll reorganize things:

There will be a post above this one referring to May's releases, and on June 10th there will be another post referring to June's rewards. This way we'll gradually adjust the announcements back to the beginning of each month again.

The next 2 announced projects are:
• Android 18 (Dragon Ball)
• Snake-man Luffy (One Piece)

There will also be a poll running for June's models starting tomorrow and lasting for 5 days.

TLDR

• Denji and Unohana are on hold because they didn't meet our quality standards.
• I'm personally refining/redoing both projects.
• Kidou is handling the next announced releases.
• The studio is reorganizing its internal pipeline.
• Release pace may temporarily slow down during this restructuring period.
• Goal is to deliver Unohana next month.
• Monthly announcements will return to the beginning of each month again.

Guys, I know no one likes waiting longer than expected for a project.

But we'll always aim for the highest quality we can deliver. From the model itself, to the base, renders and cuts. We always want you guys to have that "wow" feeling when a release finally drops.

Sometimes that means refining things longer, reworking parts of a project, or taking extra time to make sure everything reaches the standard we want for Samiho Studios.

If we start rushing projects just to keep up with deadlines, we'll become just another figure studio out there. And that's not what we want to build here.
