Poll Winners!
So the winners of the first Feature and Encounter polls are in! If you haven't voted yet - don't worry, there'll be another round next month, and the results this time were skewed pretty heavily towards the winners, so they're gonna be crowd pleasers.
Here's a rundown of the voting results. We're using a preferential voting system, so rather than one round of "winner takes it", we're using this approach: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instant-runoff_voting
What does that look like? Well, here was our initial results of just what Bunny+ patrons selected in just their first priority slots (out of three)
Grappling - 50
Clothes Destruction - 50
Armor Effects - 20
More Positions - 82
Because Armor Effects was the loser here, we eliminate Armor Effects and redistributing the votes for people who selected Armor Effects to their second priorities, we get:
Grappling - 56
Clothes Destruction - 50
More Positions - 96
So some small gains for Grappling, larger gains for More Positions. That means more people who had Armor Effects had More Positions as their second choice than Grappling, and no-one had Clothes Destruction.
This conveniently breaks the tie between Grappling and Clothes Destruction, so Clothes Destruction is eliminated as it's now the lowest. That means Grappling and More Positions that people selected as their second or even third priorities are now surfaced to the top. That leaves us with:
Grappling - 64
More Positions - 138
Which now clearly shows who the winner is - More Positions by a large margin. In this case, the winner of the original, first priority only round won it all in the end, but that's not guaranteed. Just as an academic exercise, if we eliminate Grappling now...
More Positions - 174
We get a very large number of votes for More Positions - in fact, that's out of a possible total 202 votes, so the vast majority of respondents selected More Positions as one of their priority selections.
So More Positions wins! That means handjobs and standing anal will be implemented next, so look forward to that. :D
This approach is in a number of ways fairer than the typical "first past the post" approach that those waiting on the US election are familiar with. There's less worry about selecting your favorite while still being able to vote tactically - if you think X is going to win and want to support it, but in your heart of hearts you love Y and you hope it wins a dark horse victory, you can vote "Y, then X", and that will better reflect what you want to see.
We'll announce the winners of the encounter survey later today - that one is even more interesting, but it also has a lot more options. This one was a bit of a landslide, although it got pretty close, so future surveys should be highly competitive. More on that and how we're going to handle the results to follow. :D
