Last night was one of those magic nights. Convertible cruise with a bestie out to lake Minnetonka. Lakeside table for drinks. Lightning in the distance over the lake and the slow rumble of thunder following with its foreboding growl. Dine and dashing on our tab because our server all but completely ignored us. It was better to his way. Giggles as we ran back to the car, quickly putting the top back down and scurrying back to the highway as 2 squad cars flew into the parking lot. Could those actually have been for us? The lightning all around us at this point careening past the sleepy souls mindlessly following the highway. Making it home before the wind roared and the rain quickly formed a deluged landscape. A peaceful sleep under the angry skies of our mother, protesting yet again this world we’ve made to ignore her. Forever days are not ones that seem to drag on forever but ones which you wish would never end. Yesterday was a forever day. Perfect in every way. If only it truly could be kept throughout the rest of my days.
