This month's gourmet is a collaboration with my friend Bella, who is a florist and photographer and everything person. It's based on 70's Japanese glamour photography... we were trying to replicate the playful gaze the models usually have; their gaze is always kind of deer-in-headlights -- there's a kind of chubby attitude towards their sexual affects. Like an oopsy vibe. And of course the ever-present nearly neon "exotic flower" and colorful coverings that somehow both evoke traffic light metropolitana and like... the unveiling of golden era Geishas. I wish we got a chance to do some where I'm like rolling around in the grass in a crop top and panties; that also seems to be a common theme. But this one is pure bedroom. It was so hot in there when we were shooting; everything just smelled like lilies and my underwear.
