Sometimes I forget just how much of my story lives on my skin. This one on my thigh—bright, bold, impossible to ignore—was the first tattoo that truly changed how I saw myself. I got it at a moment when everything in my life felt uncertain, when I was fighting to rebuild from pieces that didn’t seem to fit anymore. I wanted something that screamed strength, even when I couldn’t feel it yet 🖤.
The artist asked me if I was sure about the design. I remember laughing and saying, “If it’s going to hurt, it might as well mean something.” It did hurt—every line felt like a spark traveling through my nerves—but by the end, that pain felt almost cleansing. Watching the color fill in, stroke by stroke, was like watching a new version of me being born, one who had survived and wanted to be seen.
Now, every time I trace the lines of it with my fingers, I remember how far I’ve come. It’s not just ink—it’s a promise to never disappear again, to wear my past with pride instead of fear. It’s strange, but sometimes I think this piece knows me better than anyone else does.
Tell me, if you could paint your story on your skin, what would it look like? I’ll show you mine if you show me yours 💋.
Answer it on the poll below.. I'll be very obedient. 😘
