Just a little update;
Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been a bit more quiet than usual this week, unfortunately Kida has been sick. It has been a tremendously stressful week for the both of us, and because of this there’s no new set this weekend. I hope you can bare with me 🥺

Kida is ok now, basically she had sudden diarrhea for a prolonged period, and as I could tell it was not passing by itself so I took her to the emergency vet. Just how it is sometimes, I assumed she ate something bad on one of our hikes. However the vet we saw was very worried about her being 10 years old and an intact female, and suspected an infection in her uterus, she was almost rushed into emergency surgery. The vet and did multiple tests to prove her symptoms being because of pyometra. But it just didn’t really sit right with me, I refused her emergency surgery because I didn’t believe she had an infection, and went with a second opinion. The morning after her bloods proved me right, there was no infection but an ultrasound had shown liquid in her uterus. It was a LOT of back and forth but the second vet agreed to do a course of antibiotics to see if she would get better before rushing her to surgery. Shocker - it worked and Kida is almost fully recovered after her little bout. She will probably still have to go in within the coming weeks to get sprayed, as it seems she may be exposed to an infection (usually happens around their heat). It’s tough, she’s my heart and soul, and if something were to happen to her I think I would quite literally cease to exist. I don’t want her to have the surgery but I also realize that now may be better than later, older, sick etc. so it’s been a lot…

But for now; she is well, and I’m getting there.
