Waking up in Barcelona always carried something burning for Andolini. That morning, golden light was already slipping through the half-open shutters of his apartment when Manuel Reyes arrived, a light shirt against his skin and dark eyes still heavy with the night.

“A strong espresso,” Manuel said with a calm smile.

Andolini looked him over without answering right away. The kind of suspended moment when the air itself seems warmer than usual. In the distance, the city pulsed softly beneath the Spanish autumn sun, between far-off engines, the smell of sun-heated stone, and the scent of black coffee.

Manuel settled near the window, legs apart with natural confidence. He knew exactly the effect he had. Andolini joined him slowly, their eyes locked together with that delicious tension that comes before losing control.

The conversations were brief. The gestures, meanwhile, quickly became far more eloquent.
