Winter 2023, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. The snow was slowly beginning to melt along the sidewalks, giving way to that suspended atmosphere somewhere between seasons and memories. Andolini had just finished his stay, legs still heavy from the slopes, mind already drifting elsewhere… but not for long.

He pushed open the door of the rental shop to return his equipment. Inside, it was quiet—almost too quiet. Behind the counter, an employee looked up… A lingering gaze, a silence just a bit too long. There was something unsettling in his attitude: a mix of restraint and barely hidden curiosity.

Andolini, used to reading between the lines, immediately caught that silent tension. Not a word too many, just a few ordinary exchanges… but their gestures spoke for themselves. A closeness settling in, glances that lingered, an atmosphere subtly shifting.
