The day has finally come—the day you’ve been so anxious about. The day you’ve both dreaded and secretly looked forward to: National Ice Cream Day!
No worries, though. “I’ve trained for this,” you thought. There’s no way today could be that much worse than any of the other days.
You approach your gassy friend’s house, prepared to do the unimaginable—keep him from getting fired by sniffing up all of his farts. You text him to let him know you’ve arrived. He replies, telling you the door is unlocked and gives you the go-ahead to let yourself in.
As you turn the handle, you notice a faint eggy aroma in the air. Thinking nothing of it, you proceed to push the door open.
Once inside, you are struck by a vicious malodor. “God, that reeks! He must’ve forgotten to take out the trash,” you assume. The smell grows thicker as you make your way through the house toward the spare bedroom where he works.
You round the corner with your shirt over your nose, ready to inform your friend of the spoiled garbage—when you see him. Sitting at his desk, making his way through a small tub of ice cream.
As you greet each other, your focus shifts to the trash bin next to his workstation, where you notice two other cartons of ice cream already emptied. He laughs nervously and tells you he’s been eating ice cream since 6 a.m. He even mixed some with protein powder after his morning workout.
He’s scheduled to work a full day today (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.), and his shift starts in 15 minutes. If the house already smells this bad… do you have any real chance at surviving?
His shift begins, and he immediately starts applying pressure. You notice that his farts, in the beginning, are smaller than usual—but the smell is five times more potent!
You’re grateful they’re smaller because, despite the overwhelming stench, they’re easier to sniff up since they don’t last as long.
“You’re doing great! I think all that practice really paid off because I’m not smelling anything up here,” he exclaims.
Suddenly, he rises from his seat and heads to the kitchen. Upon his return, you see him carrying two more containers of ice cream.
“The smell is already bad enough. Is he doing this on purpose? Is he trying to torment me?” you wonder, as he plows through the icy treats.
Before he finishes the first carton, you hear a loud rumble emanating from his stomach.
“That can’t be good,” your friend says, before unleashing a massive fart deep into his seat—one that seems never-ending and even more violent in smell.
He continues farting like this, over and over, for what feels like hours. Your once-optimistic outlook is now destroyed by his merciless barrage.
“Why won’t it stop?” you ask yourself. “I should just go home now. There’s no way I can take any more. My eyes won’t stop watering!”
Then, unexpectedly and in a hurry, your friend shoots out of his seat, sprinting toward the bathroom... You let out a sigh of relief as you finally get a moment to rest. But as the bathroom door slams shut, and muffled sounds echo into the room… you glance at the time and realize that this nightmare is far from over
