Happy Monday! Hope y’all had a nice holiday weekend.

If you’re new here you’re probably not aware I’m a huge space nerd and amateur stargazer. I try to keep up with all of the cool space news. One of the headlines over the weekend was about the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which is a particle accelerator sitting about 500 feet under the ground, running about 17 miles around in a giant loop between France and Switzerland.

It recreates conditions in space by blasting photons into each other at (around) the speed of light which helps learn more about the universe. If you guys remember when they “discovered” the Higgs Boson (the “god particle”) this is the place it happened.

They turned it on a few years ago on July 4th and just turned it back off again for repairs to make it stronger. I don’t exactly understand how you can go harder than the speed of light but after seeing my photos maybe one of you can tell me because if it’s possible I’m 100% here for it.

For both the space news and the going harder…you get it. 😻
