The stories begin with Hobor, the one and only perfect being, first of the New-Gods and last of the Old. Hobor looked at what existed and passed judgment only He, who was infallible and infinitely wise, was fit to pass; that it should be empty. So while the Old-Gods slept Hobor pulled from his body a single vein then hanged each of His kin to death with it in turn. With His almighty strength he tore the tail from each dead God then bound them together with the vein into a brush.

Hobor, who was infallible, was also all-loving and so even though He had done what was right, the sight of the dead Gods filled him with guilt and emptiness. So, with the brush dipped his His own liquid essence, Hobor painted over everything that had been until the shame and emptiness inside him stretched to infinity in infinite directions. When finished, Hobor looked out over the infinite nothingness he had painted, then wept for that nothingness was not empty, it was stained by His shame. As Hobor wept, His gigantic tears washed across the guilty nothingness until it filled with an endless ocean of regret.

This is how the universe was first created.

For eons Hobor chose to lay adrift in the Ocean of Grief which filled the Shameful Nothing, “Such a burden it is to be as perfect as I”, He said once upon a time; “I will create offspring so they will share in this marvellous burden!”. So to the great Sea Beast Aladrea, who’s seven billion heads and seven billion breasts pleased Him, Hobor declared “Though you are unworthy of Me, You shall become my wife and bear My perfect children so they may inherit My shame and regret” and so she did because Hobor’s will could not be refused. Inside her grew a great host of children, one for each of her seven billion breasts and Aladrea bore each of these children before Hobor,

“Look, for I have done as you willed. May You look upon these children and love them as I have and feel pleased in my work”

But Hobor was not pleased. One by one He inspected the glowing children and one by one, enraged by their imperfections, he flung them to the edges of endless ocean, staining it’s shores with the first stars. As he threw the last of them away, Aladrea wept at Hobor’s curved feet and cursed Him “Though those children be not as perfect as You, I loved them so and you have cast them away. How perfect is Your rage?” And Hobor felt despair at his anger and his actions, although they were perfect and right.

“Though you have failed in you duty as my wife, I shall give you another chance” Hobor told her then he took her again.

Each time Aladrea would present her children to Hobor and each time he would become enraged and cast them away. Each time Aladrea would curse him and each time Hobor would feel despair until every star in the universe was painted and Aladrea could bear no more, “You have cast away my children and now my heart can bear no more. I shall die now in misery, as you must have always meant me too”. Hobor did not weep for Aladrea for he knew he was infallible and so this was all to his plan. He took her body and crushed it to the size of a pin, then buried her at the centre of the ocean. “From here you may see all your children equally and clearly” Hobor told his wife, who’s remains grew into a great maelstrom that drew away every drop of the Ocean of Grief from the universe till all was contained in it’s centre, just as Hobor had wished.

Hobor beheld the Centre of everything which held all Grief, He beheld the star stained Shores of Despair at the edges of infinity, He beheld the Shameful Nothing that existed between the two and saw it was good, “This is all as I meant it to be, as I am infallible” Hobor Spoke truthfully, as all he could not speak mistruths, yet inside of him he felt there was wrongness “If there is wrongness within My body, then it must be not part of Me and must be cast away and damned; for to defile My perfection is impossible and so therefor must too be the punishment impossibly terrible” So Hobor reached inside Himself and took firm grip of the wrongness, tearing it from him with righteous fury. Within His infinite hands, Hobor beheld the wrongness and saw it was His own still beating heart, “What a terrible thing” Hobor cursed for all His godly might could barely carry the weight of the object in His hands, “For this heart of Mine to suffer punishment as I have declared, then it must remain with me. For I know now the most terrible punishment of all is to be My love”
