Hello everyone 😊

A little life update because so many of you have reached out to check on me, and I haven’t had the time or energy to answer everyone individually. ā¤ļø

First and foremost, I am okay. I’m safe, I’ve moved into a new place, I have a mattress, my survivor chair, little tables and some essentials, and I’m slowly beginning to rebuild my home.

The last several days have been much more physically and emotionally demanding than I think I initially understood. Because of the severe mold infestation in my apartment after the fire, I was the only person allowed to enter my unit to retrieve my belongings. I had to go in alone, walk through the damaged building, decide what could realistically be saved, and carry everything I kept down multiple flights of stairs without elevators.

I think only now that I’m somewhere safe is my body starting to understand what it has been through. I am exhausted.

There is also something strangely emotional about going through the belongings of a home you had just created, deciding what gets left behind and what little pieces of it you can carry with you.

Right now, I’m spending a lot of my time thoroughly cleaning and washing everything I retrieved—especially my clothes—because of the mold, smoke, and everything they were exposed to. I’m also trying to remind myself that I don’t need to recreate an entire home immediately. I have what I need. The furniture and everything else can come with time.

So for now, I’m taking care of the practical things, taking care of my body, and letting myself process everything at whatever pace it comes.

And through all of this, I have felt an extraordinary amount of love. Every message, donation, offer to help, and person who has simply checked on me has mattered.

I might not have the capacity to respond to everyone right now, but please know that I see it. I feel it. And I am deeply, deeply grateful. ā¤ļø

I’m safe. I have a home again. And little by little, I’m rebuilding 🌱
