Reflecting on weight and health that some people (who are going through similar things) may appreciate hearing about.
Weight is 157.4lbs today. Overall net loss of around 10lbs this year. My stall came after mostly giving up on counting calories or even making my health a priority, so it has been hovering around this number for the past few months. In the moments where I'm choosing to stop keeping my head in the sand, it can become really frustrating to face how much weight I could have lost in that same timeframe. Funny how a net loss of 1lb/month seems so stupid and unsatisfying in the moment, but it would have made me feel better now, several months down the line. The small steps really do add up in the end.
On the other hand, it's so important for me to know that it did not get worse, did not balloon over 160. I'm genuinely relieved about this.
I'm only human! Sometimes it's crazy to think how the bad days I have nowadays are still nothing like the bad days I would regularly have at 190+lbs. Actually, in this moment, I'm about 40lbs down from 2022. It's a big number to write down, but honestly, it's hard to feel the true weight (heh) of the accomplishment when most of it happened slowly, over years. I still feel too close to my highest weight - until OF shows me "on this day.." photos and remind me that I'm not as big as I once was.
Today I have to make a conscious choice to take a small step towards my goal. Even if I don't feel that it matters in the moment, in the day, or even my whole week, I have to believe that it adds up in the end - because it does. Even if it's just losing an lb or two in a month. I hope you reading this rn can make a conscious choice today to make a step in the right direction too, however small that step may be.
